How Embracing Cloud Rejuvenates a Telco?

The telecom industry is embracing cloud technology to develop radical value propositions.

FREMONT, CA: Until now, cloud computing primarily catalyzed technological change, leaving its potential for driving business innovations untapped. But, the cloud has the power to fundamentally transform the competitive landscape by providing a new arena for creating and delivering business value. Here is an exploration of the potentials of cloud as a business enabler in the telecom industry.

The telecom industry operates in a complex operational environment today. The industry heavily depends on technologies to run networks and assist in the delivery of services. Telecom providers have embraced the latest cloud technology to make the most out of its use to cater to their clientele. As users of cloud computing, telecom operators can switch their essential business functions and applications to the cloud, thereby harnessing flexibility, efficiency, and operational gains. Moving to the cloud would enable telecom companies to reduce their total cost of ownership and their initial investments in various technologies and domains.

Cloud computing has also provided new dimensions and opportunities to all the telecom service providers to move ahead in the information and communication technology value chain. Telecom service providers are enjoying significant advantages over other industries in terms of cloud. Given that, telecom providers can instantiate cloud functionality with minimal latency to their consumers.

Cloud has become a key factor for all businesses to consider. Companies in the telecom industry must predict IT services' performance and determine optimal configurations to assure availability and minimize cost while implementing the cloud. Investing in performance management tools can maximize the revenue potential of cloud technology and ensure customer satisfaction for telecom providers.
